Can the CHARGE be used with V1 or V2 micro:bits?
Yes! Either version micro:bit will work with Charge. However, because the V1 micro:bit does not contain a speaker on the back, the micro:bit may slide slightly in the CHARGE enclosure.
Is the wrist strap included?
Yes! Every CHARGE Power Pack for micro:bit also includes a velcro wrist strap.
How long does the CHARGE for micro:bit Power Pack rechargeable battery stay charged?
CHARGE (without power management) has enough battery life for 56 hours of continuous work. CHARGE (with power management extensions) can power up to 8 days!
CHARGE for micro:bit has an on/off switch. If your student leave a project on, you can expect the CHARGE Power Pack to run for about 56 hours (without power management extensions).
With power management, you could run the CHARGE Power Pack for up to 8 days!
How does this compare to the regular micro:bit GO Pack or Next Gen wrist strap?
The CHARGE is different in a few ways:
1. It's rechargeable! This makes CHARGE unlike anything else out there.
2. The secure press-fit CHARGE enclosure keeps the micro:bit tightly in place, unlike elastic bands.
3. The integrated wrist strap keeps the unit secure on your wrist of whatever object you're attaching it to.
Who created the CHARGE for micro:bit?
The CHAGRE for micro:bit was created by our friends over at Forward Education. After years of watching micro:bit users attach their devices with make-shift solutions, and throwing out thousands of disposable batteries, they knew there had to be a better way.
The Forward Education team wanted to create a solution for the dangling micro:bit battery pack and disposable batteries - that's when CHARGE was born!
