Is the V2 micro:bit compatible with the original micro:bit accessories and shield?

V2 maintains compatibility with most existing micro:bit accessories, shields, and kits, including those used with the original model. However, some features, like audio capabilities, may require accessories designed specifically for the V2.

However, please be aware that some micro:bit accessories, like the Climate Action Kit, require a V2 micro:bit to work because of new advanced features.

What programming languages can be used with the micro:bit?

You can program the micro:bit using languages such as MakeCode (a block-based editor), Python, and JavaScript. The MakeCode editor offers an easy entry point for beginners, while Python allows for more advanced coding projects as users gain experience.

What age range is the micro:bit suitable for?

The micro:bit is designed for children aged 8 and up, but it can be used by anyone interested in learning about coding, electronics, and digital creativity. Educators, hobbyists, and makers of all ages can use the microto create interactive projects, games, and more.
