FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

Do you carry more filament than what's listed on your website?

Yes! For more filament types and colours, please visit our partner website: filaments.ca.

How do I know what type of filament I should use?

As general recommendation, InkSmith always suggests PLA filament for use in education, libraries, and hobbyist makers. PLA filament is one of the easiest to use filament types and works great for almost all 3D printing projects.

How should filament be stored?

When you're not using your filament, it's important to store it properly to prevent the filament from taking moisture which can ruin it. You can view our Filament Storage accessories here.

What size of filament do I need?

Filament generally comes in two different diameters: 1.75mm and 2.85mm. All 3D printers that InkSmith carries require 1.75mm sized filament.
